Jehza Huelar reveals she had a miscarriage before welcoming baby boy with PJ Simon
Jehza Huelar revealed that she had a miscarriage before successfully carrying to term her newborn baby boy with husband PJ Simon.
On Instagram, Thursday, the Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational 2018 posted five photos during various stages of her pregnancy journey, which began in June 2020.
The first was a black and white snap showing what appears to be a hospital room, something that the former beauty queen thought would never be shared online.
"My pregnancy announcement happened last year during PJ's birthday—as a surprise gift for him. I was 7 weeks pregnant here. If you do the math, I should have delivered the baby last January 2021," she wrote.
A few weeks later, Jehza said their faith was challenged when she had to be rushed to the hospital for heavy bleeding.
"In my mind, I already knew what was about to transpire. And it happened. We lost our baby," she said.
"The pain we felt was unbearable. More than the physical pain, the emotional pain of seeing my husband [crying] was incomparable," she added.
Jehza said the doctor told her not to get pregnant in the next three months to ensure that her next pregnancy would be successful.
When she went to a checkup two months later, however, she found out that she was pregnant again. It was unexpected news, but the couple were determined to take care of the "precious gift."
They went back to Mindanao for a "fresh state of mind" and "remove unnecessary stress." On Monday, Jehza finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy they named Peter Jeidon.
"Always remember: God will never take away something from without the intention of replacing it something better," she said. "You just have to keep the faith."
