Derek Ramsay on breakup with Andrea Torres: 'It came out of nowhere. It blindsided me'

Derek Ramsay shed light on his breakup with Andrea Torres in a tell-all interview with Pops Fernandez on her YouTube channel.

According to Derek, the breakup "was very sudden. The breakup happened. It came out of nowhere. It blindsided me."

It was a mutual decision, he said, that rooted from a little problem that soon became a bigger issue.

"We ran across a little problem. And suddenly, it became much bigger. And I guess we both realized that it was something na both of us could not make certain adjustments to," he said.

"Instead of forcing it, let’s just go separate ways," the Kapuso hunk said.

When asked about closure, Derek told Pops, “I think that will come with time. Definitely no hate, no regret." 

The Kapuso hunk stressed the fact that between him and Andrea, there is "no hate towards one another."

“I don’t think she hates me. I definitely don’t hate her. I’m her family. We were together for over a year," he said.

Pops also asked Derek if he and Andrea are friends when they went their separate ways.

Derek answered, "I never unfriended Andrea. There’s no hate siguro towards each other. “You can see that she’s back into work, she looks great, she’s been working out.”

Derek said Andrea's current situation "shows that we both don’t have any animosity towards each other."

“I guess kasi if we do, it would really reflect on the way you act, the way you talk, the way you move," he added.

The Kapuso hunk said it is also obvious that they are now both happy.

"People think that I’m insensitive, but I have a supportive family and friends, good friends, who lift me back up. So, that’s what I have to… we have to move on," he said.

Derek and Andrea announced their breakup in November 2020, after being in a relationship for over a year.

He told Pops he had planned to stay single for two years, but, well, life got in the way.

He met Ellen Adarna in January, and in late February confirmed their month-long relationship.

Derek said he is currently "super in love" and that everything with him and Ellen "just clicks."

“She makes me feel happy about who I am. And the old Derek is back, and my closest friends said that to me. They’re the ones who said to me, ‘Dude, you're back,'" he said.
