Chef Jose Sarasola reveals he received hurtful remarks when he got together with Maria Ozawa
Chef Jose Sarasola revealed that he received a lot of negative comments when he started dating Japanese actress Maria Ozawa.
“It was really hard. Name it, lahat ng mga bashing, crude, negative comments nakuha ko,” Jose said in a “Tunay Na Buhay” episode on Thursday.
He said sometimes he answered back.
“Sometimes I would answer back sa mga negative comments, sa mga nagba-bash sa amin, but then my friends were saying, ‘alam mo the more you answer back to this people, you’re making them win and be happy eh,’’ said the celebrity chef.
But Maria, a former adult film star, consoled Jose and said she herself was used to bashers.
“I felt really sorry for Jose,” Maria said. “We kinda, like, set it aside. If we were happy then who cares about the other people.”
Jose said one of the reasons why their relationship worked was because he didn’t treat Maria as a star.
“I didn’t treat her as Maria Ozawa, the international star. I treated her like Maria Ozawa, the person who she really is inside,” Jose said.
Despite the bashers, Jose and Maria happily celebrated their fourth anniversary yesterday.
Although they celebrated their milestone apart as Maria stayed in her home country, Japan, she couldn’t help but express her joy.
“I’m sure this is your first time going out with someone for four years and I’m happy it’s me. I really miss you. I hope I can see you very, very soon. Sana this year,” she said. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
