Barbie Forteza inspires 80-year-old fan to donate to children with cleft palates

A 80-year-old woman decided to mark her birthday by following the footsteps of her idol, Barbie Forteza.

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Nenita Samson was inspired by Barbie's celebration in 2019, when she spent her birthday with children who have cleft palate.

Nanay Nenita shared her plan to Barbie herself, who surprised her by appearing on the video call of her interview.

"Instead of spending 'yung pera sa party, gusto ko don na lang ibigay sa mga bata through you," she said. "Bukal na bukal sa puso ko."

The Kapuso actress, who is an ambassador of the Smile Train organization, was touched by her biggest fan's kind heart.

"Sobrang nakaka-overwhelm at nakakataba ng puso dahil hindi ko lubos akalain na through my work na dahil sa ginagawa ko, nakaka-inspire din pala ako ng hindi lang bata, pati bagets at heart," she said.

Barbie and Nanay Nenita previously met when the older woman went to a show for "Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday."

Nanay Nenita carried a hand-made poster with Barbie's name and took a photo with the actress.

"Very accommodating siya. Ang bait-bait niya. Pinatigil niya 'yung sasakyan tas kinunan ako," she said.
