Bawal Judgmental trends as it addresses issues faced by LGBT community

Eat Bulaga's Bawal Judgemental trended on Philippine Twitter for most of Wednesday afternoon as it featured women who are in a relationship with their fellow women, telling their hard truths on national television.

A common issue among the guests are family problems. Having to deal with a society that perceives same sex relationships as unusual, couples cannot simply shy away from family members who think the same.

Mae and Cath, together for a year and two months, are among those who struggled to be accepted by their families.

“Ayoko ipilit yung hindi niya kayang tanggapin, pero tin’try ko naman i-explain na ito yung gusto ko. Hayaan niyo nalang ako maging masaya,” Mae said.

“Sinabi ko po kay mama na hindi ko kaya ipilit yung sarili ko sa iba. Gusto ko maging masaya,” Cath added.

Another issue tackled is the prevalent bashing they often endure online, though according to most of the couples, they don’t mind the haters as long as they are not doing anything wrong.

“Hindi naman po kasi nila ako mapipigilan sa gusto ko. Kahit anong pigil nila, kung ito yung nararamdaman ko, hindi na nila kayang ibahin pa,” Pab stated.

“Nalalamangan ng positivity na natatanggap namin and sa support from the people around us,” Clare added.

Asked for a message to haters, Ana tells them to “live and let live.”

“Respeto sa kung anong gusto ng tao. Kung magkakamali, madapa man, they owe it to themselves naman to know on their own,” she said.

Through the episode, one of the viewers realized that “love knows no boundaries.”

"It's [sic] universality proves that it doesn't have a face. It demands to be shared, not to be condemned," the netizen wrote.

Another viewer also praised the group for being “brave” enough to share their stories to the world.
