3 volunteers who died after giving aid to Taal eruption victims honored by relatives

Three volunteers who died in a car accident after helping victims of the Taal volcano eruption in January continue to be honored by their relatives to this day.

In Oscar Oida's report for "24 Oras," the volunteers' relatives said that Maximino Alcantara, Darwin Lajara, and Rio John Abel were men of good hearts.

According to Maximino's mom, Amelia, Maximino was always willing to help victims of typhoons ever since he was small.

Despite dealing with grief, the relatives expressed just how proud they were of the volunteers who offered kindness as their final act.

Now that they were gone, their relatives found another way to celebrate Christmas by continuing their legacy and doing something good.

"Alam kong okay lagay mo diyan," Dennis said.

—Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
