Time to give Christmas a fizz

There are still so much to be thankful for this year’s Christmas. While the celebrations may be different this year, we can still make the holidays a time to fondly remember. Here are some ideas that will surely spark Christmas cheers at home and bring the family even more closer together:

Teach kids the joy of giving

Gather the family to check for clothes, books, and toys they no longer use. Neatly pack them together in a bag and let your kids know it will go to people who need it most. You can donate your pre-loved items to your favorite advocacy groups or give them to a family in need within your community.

Create an e-greeting card

Don the colors of Christmas and create a boomerang with the family!  Edit the photo with holiday greetings and send to relatives and friends to brighten their day. Mobile phones nowadays have playful plug-ins you can use to make the e-greeting a snap to remember.

Set the holiday mood

Excite the senses to get everybody in the mood! Create a playlist of Christmas tunes and play it throughout the day. Boil cocoa for a whiff of chocolate to get the kids excited. Also, you can turn on Christmas lights and put up decorations if you haven’t already.

Schedule fun times

Plan out fun activities the whole family will enjoy. These may include board games, scavenger hunt, movie marathon, indoor caroling, and other activities that everyone will surely enjoy being part of. You can even try creating a "parol" with the family using recycled materials.

Prep the Christmas table

Fill the table with food and goodies! A Noche Buena feast does not need to be extravagant. You can recreate Christmas recipes with alternative ingredients that are more practical. Also, you can even check your fridge and convert left over food to yummy dishes. This can be an opportunity for you to create traditions.
