Myrtle Sarrosa reveals song 'Label' is about an actor she dated who didn't want a relationship label

Myrtle Sarrosa will be having a virtual concert next week and in a Zoom interview with GMA Network reporters on Monday, she revealed the story behind her song, "Label."

Accorrding to Myrtle, she wrote the song in 2016, inspired by her experience dating an actor who didn't want to put a label on their relationship.

"Most of it is my personal experience. This was an old single, yung song ko na 'Label' was  a song na sinulat ko when I went on a date with an artista pero ayaw niya ng relationship na may label because back then meron siyang love team."

Despite not revealing who the actor was, Myrtle pointed to a line that was specific to her own experience: "Gusto mo ako, 'yan ang sabi mo, pero ayaw mo ng label/ parang tayo, pero hindi tayo, kasi ayaw mo ng label."

The song "Heartbroken" meanwhile is a mixture of that dating experience and that of a friend.

"'Yung story, my friend was about to get married, but a week before their marriage, nag-pass away yung fiance niya."

The Kapuso star said despite having a bit of a sad tone to the lyrics, she will be singing it with upbeat music, since her genre is pop with a little bit of rap.

Myrtle said she will be more vulnerable with her self-composed songs and the stories behind it for this concert. — LA, GMA News
