Dingdong Dantes shoots commercial at home featuring his mom making cheese pimiento

Dingdong Dantes has shot another commercial at home, this time featuring his own mother and the meticulous creation of their family’s homemade cheese pimiento.

“Growing up, it was my mom who accompanied me in my projects, from my first exposure to commercials at the age of three to TV and movie shoots. And even up to this day, she is one of my biggest supporters and cheerleaders, regardless of how my performances are,” he wrote on the caption.

The actor added, “it has always been my dream to appear in a TV commercial with her; and I guess, I just don’t want to sit and wait for that to happen.”

The Kapuso Primetime King said he decided to literally sit beside her, “watch and film her do what she does best because it is about time to act on this dream.”

In the video, Dingdong posted clips of his mom preparing their family’s homemade cheese pimiento.

“Sharing with you snippets of my mom’s magic—something that has kept me, us—her family always excited to be on the table to celebrate togetherness with her recipes, despite the circumstances,” he wrote.

“So here. I made her her own commercial. One that speaks truly about heritage, inspiration, and above all—love,” he added.

Dingdong’s mother said the cheese pimiento recipe was passed down to her by his Lola Letizia.

In the video, the actor asked his mom for the secret recipe but she refused to tell him.

“Secret nga ng mga mama ’yun, baka kay Marian ko na sasabihin, hindi na sa ’yo ’no,” his mom said.

What’s important, she added, was that in every jar of cheese pimiento was the taste loved by three generations.

After a while, Zia’s voice could be heard in the background asking her lola if she’s done preparing the cheese pimiento.

Dingdong continued to ask his mom about the secret recipe, only to get an answer: “One day, malay mo, ’pag mama na si Zia, sasabihin niya sa ’yo.”
