Disney's 2020 heartwarming holiday video, featuring a lola and her apo, will make you cry

Disney just released its 2020 Christmas video, and it going to make you cry.

The three-minute animated clip shared by Disney UK on social media Monday opens in a plaza that is beautifully lined with colorful lanterns — a sight familiar in the Philippines during Christmastime.

The year is 1940, and a little girl greets her father, who arrives home to give her a Mickey Mouse doll.

It then flashes forward to 2005, and the little girl is now an elderly lola who gives the same doll to her granddaughter. Filled with glee, she helps her grandma build a parol together and hang it up in their living room.

The scene then jumps to the not-so-distant future when the apo grows up and slowly loses interest in her lola's little Christmas tradition.

The Christmas spirit fades away in their home as the apo grows up, with her lola quietly hiding her disappointment.

As soon as she realizes this though, the apo quickly tries to make amends. The resulting sequence will have you quietly crying, too.
