Megan Young, Mikael Daez consider moving and living in Subic
Megan Young and Mikael Daez have considered Subic as one of the places they would like to live in, should they move out of Metro Manila.
In their latest podcast episode, Megan and Mikael weighed in on the pros and cons of living in Metro Manila.
Among the not-so-nice things about living in the city is the traffic, they said, and how stressful the hustle and the bustle can sometimes be.
However, the two also said living in the city is so much easier, given how everything is accessible.
With their work as actors, gamers, and vloggers becoming more flexible, the two thought about moving out of Metro Manila and living in a province.
"I would consider moving out basta I'm able to do all the work that I have," Megan said.
Both on the top of their list is Subic Bay, the place where they got married and Megan's hometown.
"Off the top of my head something that's close to my heart, closer to yours pero feel ko closer to mine, it's Subic," Mikael said.
For Megan she said it's the perfect place to live in outside Metro Manila because she has friends and family there and it was also where she grew up so she knows it inside out.
"It feels like home every time I visit. It just feels comfortable; it doesn't feel alien to me," Megan said.
Besides, Megan loves the vibe of Subic.
"I feel at peace when I'm there. I feel like even though we're doing a lot of things, the vibe is just so relaxing and I think that's also important when we're doing our work," Megan said.
"Sometimes it gets too much, like the hustle and the bustle for me — like it drains me. I feel like this would be a good balance, Subic," she added.
Agreeing to Megan, Mikael said "I've fallen in love with Subic and as much as I've fallen in love with Bonez. I've fallen just as hard with Subic and the reason why is not tangible. It's a feeling that I have."
"I love to drive along SCTEX. It's such a beautiful highway. I think it's a world-class highway. When you get to Subic, just the way the city is laid out, maaliwalas siya maluwag. It's so airy, it's so open, there aren't a lot of high rise buildings and the few high rises are actually really short," Mikael said.
Mikael said he likes the idea that you can see the forest, mountains from wherever they are and how the air is much more cleaner.
They have also tried researching the prices of rental in Subic compared to Metro Manila and they have found out that it's approximately 60% to 70% cheaper. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
