Pau Gasol and wife Cat name new baby girl after Gianna Bryant
Pau Gasol and his wife Cat welcomed their firstborn and named her Elisabet Gianna to honor Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and their whole family.
"Our little one has finally arrived!! The delivery went really well and we couldn’t be happier!! Elisabet Gianna Gasol," Pau wrote in the caption.
Pau said it is "a very meaningful name for our super beautiful daughter" and proudly used the hashtag #girldad.
Kobe's wife, Vanessa, commented on Pau's post and said "Love you 3!!! Congratulations!!"
In Cat's post meanwhile, Kobe and Vanessa's eldest daughter, Natalia, left a comment: "LOVE!" complete with a red heart emoji.
In her locked Instagram account, Vanessa reportedly revealed that she will be a godparent to Pau and Cat's newborn.
"My goddaughter is here!!!!" She reportedly wrote, to which the basketball player commented, "We love you sis! You're going to be the best Godmother to our Ellie Gianna."
Since Kobe and Gianna died in a helicopter crash last January, Pau has been spending quality time with the Bryants.
In July, Gasol spent quality time with Bryant's three daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri. Last month, the Gasols even went a boat trip with Vanessa and her three daughters near San Francisco. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
