Lloyd Cadena's dad on passing of son: "Napakasakit, it was the saddest day in my life"

Lloyd Cafe Cadena's father Jun “Khalid” Cadena took to his own YouTube page to vlog about the passing of his own son

"Yesterday was the saddest day in my life," he began. "I lost my son Lloyd Cafe Cadena. I was shocked."

An OFW in the Middle East, Jun said he was on duty at work, when he received a call from his daughter in the morning. "She told me, 'Papa, wala na si Lloyd.'"

"Napakasakit," the older Cadena said after crying. "Ayaw ko tanggapin. Mabait na anak si Lloyd. Hindi man lang kami nagkita."

He says it was very hard for a father to accept the death of a child. "Parang nawalan ako ng lakas nang sabihin ng anak ko na wala na si Lloyd. Nagulat ako na hindi ko maintindihan."

He said he was in shock, trying to process what he had just heard. "Tulala ako ng three minutes or more."

"Sayang yun batang yun," he said of the popular vlogger. "Hindi pa niya natupad mga pangarap niya...hindi ko akalaing maga siya kukunun."

In the vlog, published a day after Lloyd died, Jun said couldn't bear looking at social media or switching on the internet the night before "kasi puro balata tungkol kay Lloyd. Ang sakit."

"Nanghina ako, hindi ako makakain," he continued.

Jun said in Lloyd's last message, the blogger had asked for prayers. "Siyempre naman. Una kong pinapanalangin ang mga anak ko," Jun said.

He asked for people to refrain asking the cause of death and to respect the family's privacy.

News of Lloyd's death swept social media on Friday, August 4 and immediately, the internet, including celebrities like his friend Michelle Dy and his favorite Mariah Carey wept for him. — LA, GMA News
