Therese Malvar says being a descendant of General Miguel Malvar and Jose Rizal inspires her to become better

Instead of letting the pressure get to her, Therese Malvar said being a descendant of two of the Philippine heroes, General Miguel Malvar and Dr. Jose Rizal, inspires her to become better.
"Even without knowing who my ancestors are, we would always want to bring honor to our family. We would always want to bring a good representation of our family," Therese told GMA News Online in an interview.
Growing up, Therese said people would always tell her that their "bloodline is full of heroes."
"In a way it pressured me slight, but it mostly inspired me to become more as my family became more and they became an instrument, they became a voice to the people who are voiceless," she said.
According to Therese, her siblings and the rest of the family, "also strive for excellence in everything that they do."
Therese has been an award-winning actress since she began her showbiz career in 2013.
Her two award-winning indie films will be hitting Netflix this month: "1-2-3 Gasping For Air" will be available on Netflix starting September 3, while "Distance" where she won Best Supporting Actress in Cinemalaya 2018 will begin streaming come September 17.
