Melissa Ricks shares how she met her fiance in church after praying for someone like him
Shortly after her engagement, Melissa Ricks narrated how she met her fiance Michael Macatangay a few months after she praying for someone like him, and right in church, too.
On Instagram, the actress shared how she decided to turn to God two years ago, as she was feeling hopeless and at her rockbottom.
"I felt like everything was falling apart. I was feeling hopeless, I didn't have as much money as I did before. I was a single mom. I was alone. I didn't have work, and I was scared. That was when I turned to God," she said.
Melissa continued, narrating how she would drive more than two hours every Sunday just so she could attend Sunday services at the Jesus the Anointed One Church in Rosario, Batangas.
According to Melissa, that Batangas church felt like home. "It felt right. I felt safe. I didn't feel judged. I felt like my worries were taken away, and I felt like I had a family there," she continued.
Melissa entrusted everything to God and soon, she developed a personal relationship with him. She would talk to God like he were her friend, and one day, Melissa "nag baka sakali lang ako." She prayed, "Lord, baka naman po may ma meet ako dito, yung alam ang sakit, yung napagdaanan na ang lahat, yung masipag, yung mabait. Mahal ako and mahal anak ko. But most of all may takot sa Diyos."
She added, "Sana po may makatabi ko."
Lo and behold, a few months later, she would walk into church, "like I did every Sunday along with Kiera, and I sat in the front row...right next to Michael."
