Dingdong Dantes shares what's it like raising kids amid the pandemic

Dingdong Dantes witnessed more milestones of his children Zia and Baby Ziggy over the pandemic and quarantine period, as he spent more time with them.

"Siyempre these are the things na na-appreciate ko now, kasi 'eto 'yung mga bagay na hindi ko nagawa pre-pandemic," Dingdong told GMA News Online in a virtual media conference for GMA Pinoy TV's 15th anniversary.

"Parati kaming na sa labas, parati kaming nagtatrabaho, pero ngayon nagkaroon pa [kami] ng bonding."

According to Dingdong, he saw how his son Baby Ziggy grew up from the beginning of the quarantine period.

"When this all started, my son wasn't even walking. He was still crawling. Now he's running and saying a few words, parang ang dami ng nangyari 'di ba so maganda 'yung oras na nandun kasi natututukan mo sila," Dingdong shared.

Moving forward Dingdong said he realized that time for your family is something that should never be compromised.

"'Yun yung isang value na di dapat mawala: yung oras mo with your family, especially with your kids. You have to be there in every milestone of their life, to guide them and also to witness their development and growth," he said.

Dingdong also shared what he has learned raising children amid the pandemic.

"I'm not sure if I'll be privileged to be there at every step of the way but as much as possible I will aim for that and 'yan 'yung isang bagay na natutunan ko dito sa nangyari at sa mga mangyayari," he said.

Dingdong has been sharing momentous shots of his children and wife Marian Rivera as they spend more time together at home over the quarantine period.

For the first time amid the quarantine period, Dingdong will be away from his family for more than two weeks to continue shooting the award-winning Philippine adaptation of "Descendants of the Sun."
