Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo reveal how they met and fell in love
Andi Eigenmann has chosen to live a simple island life in Siargao with her boyfriend Philmar Alipayo with whom she is now raising a family.
In their recent vlog, the "Happy Islanders" answered questions about their relationship for the first time ever, revealing how they met and fell in love.
Apparently, Andi had attended an awarding ceremony while on vacation and saw Philmar, who is a professional surfer based in Siargao.
Andi said he got her a drink, and they snapped a photo together.
"I'm the one that made pa-picture... Nagpa-picture ako kasi fan talaga kami ng mga friends ko kasi we’re fans of surfing as a sport," Andi said.
Andi and Philmar quickly became friends and casually commented on each other's Instagram posts. The two of them eventually got to know one another even better when Andi visited Siargao again by herself.
Andi recalled how little Philmar knew about her even though she was already an actress at the time.
"I think that's what made me more comfortable with Philmar. Just like me only getting to know him, it's the same for him because he didn't know anything about me," Andi shared.
"I had to share everything so that was really nice and refreshing. We got really close and we got along so well," she added.
Andi also accompanied Philmar when he went to Manila for training, and she recalled how he got along so well with her daughter Ellie.
"Our relationship got stronger. But for me, I really knew that there's a future because of his relationship with Ellie. Because he's my friend, I didn't have to overthink about introducing them," Andi shared.
She added that Philmar was "really good with kids."
When it was his turn to answer the question "How did you know it was love?," the surfer said he realized it when he had to return to Siargao.
"I realized that I'm happy with you...na masaya akong pinapasaya ka," Philmar told Andi.
Andi and Philmar welcomed their daughter Lilo on July 23, 2019.
Baby Lilo is Andi's second child after Ellie.
