Heart Evangelista and father Rey reveal how they got through their previous fights

Heart Evangelista and her father Rey Ongpauco talked about their previous fights and how they got through them.

"Ang pinagaawayan lang naman lagi niyan, boyfriend lagi," Rey laughingly said in the video released by a soft drinks brand for Father's Day.

Rey admitted to initially not agreeing with Heart's relationships, which resulted in him missing her daughter's once-in-a-lifetime wedding.

"Nung una, ayaw ko. Hindi tuloy ako napunta sa kasal niya pero pumunta rin ako after five years," he said.

"Ano feeling mo dad, na na-realize mo na mali ka?" Heart joked.

According to Rey, he didn't talk with his daughter for two years.

But in a more serious note, Heart said when she and her father fought she "felt a void" in her life.

"It was so hard for me because having like a solid family really matters to me,so when I lost my family I was lost as a person," Heart said.

Rey admitted that as a father, he wanted to live with his children for the rest of his life.

"Siyempre kapag yung bata na humihingi sa 'yo hindi mo matatanggihan eh. Kahit nahihirapan ka gagawin mo," he said.

Eventually, the two got through their fights and problems.

"We just started out like before, like parang I was a little girl again we just get each other so much," Heart said.

"That's why now we make sure na lagi kami nag-uusap. It's really important that you spend time with your family we're just passing through in this world," Heart said. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
