Couple rescheduling wedding at city hall get married on the spot
This couple only wanted to get married before the expiration of their license, but they didn’t expect to tie the knot on the spot!
Erica Calandria and Ronnie Sagum went to General Trias City Hall in Cavite on May 30 to set a schedule for a civil wedding following the cancellation of their April 25 garden ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
When they arrived at the city hall, however, Mayor Ony Ferrer proposed to officiate their wedding right away.
“Surprisingly, the mayor asked if we want to get married on the spot, and of course we said yes!” said Erica on her Facebook post on the same day.
The mayor’s staff also assisted the newlywed couple by providing them with improvised rings.
According to Erica, even if she wasn’t able to wear her white dress on their special day, what’s important was she was able to say “I do” to the one that she loved. – RC, GMA News
