Frontliners record video greetings for their moms on Mother's Day

Many medical frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cannot go home for Mother's Day.

Knowing their risk of exposure while on duty, they have chosen to isolate themselves in order to protect their families.

Unable to hug and kiss their moms, some of them have chosen to record video greetings to show their love, according to Corinne Catibayan's report for "24 Oras."

"Hi Ma, happy Mother's Day. Sorry I can't be home. Don't worry, I'm okay here. I miss you," said Dr. Miguel Jarabelo, an ophthalmology resident at East Avenue Medical Center.

"Hayaan mo, pagbalik ko, pagkatapos ng lahat ng ito, pagkatapos ng GCQ, at ECQ, at lahat ng CQ, kita-kita na ulit tayo and kung san mo gusto game na game ako," he said.

Dra. Aimee Capinpuyan, a Doctor to the Barrios in Gigaquit, Surigao del Norte, expressed her wish to be with her mom and reminded her to stay healthy.

"I hope you're keeping safe. Please always wear a mask, eat your veggies, mag-zumba lang," she said. "Love you and I'll see you soon, promise."

Dra. Wilma Turalde, a pediatric resident assigned to the COVID Ward at the Philippine General Hospital, made two Korean finger hearts while recording her message.

"Ito na lang po muna, saka na po ang mahigpit na mahigpit na yakap. Happy Mother's Day," she said. —MGP, GMA News
