Luane Dy and Carlo Gonzales share the story behind their new baby's name

Luane Dy and Carlo Gonzales welcomed a baby boy named Jose Christiano last April 30, 2020. And his nickname? Christ!

In an interview in "Unang Hirit" on Friday, the first time parents revealed the story behind the name they decided on.

It turns out that all the men in Carlo's family had a "Jose" in their name, and he really wanted to pair it with a "Christ-like" name as well.

"Ako kasi, I've always wanted the name Christ. Christ-like, 'yung mga ganon. And at the same time, letter C, so parang kung titignan mo, pareho kami," Carlo explained.

"Lahat ng lalaki kasi sa pamilya namin may Jose, so (sabi ko) anong magandang pangalan na letter C that goes well with Jose? So, ayun, pareho kami: J.C.," he added.

The proud daddy also said Jose Christiano's nickname is going to be Christ.

Christ was born in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, so unfortunately Carlo wasn't able to support Luane in the delivery room.

Luane shared, "Nalungkot si Carlo kasi hindi na allowed ang husbands sa loob ng labor room, ng delivery room, gusto pa naman sana naming maexperience 'yung siya 'yung mag ka-cut ng umbilical cord."

Nevertheless, the couple wanted to express their utmost gratitude to all the health workers who continue to provide their services amid the health crisis.

"Gusto ko ring i-take 'yung opportunity na magpa-salamat sa lahat ng frontliners natin at healthworkers, especialy dun sa O.B. ko, doon sa doctor ko, na  kahit na may pinagdadaanan tayo na ganito, tina-try pa rin nila na maging maganda 'yung experience," Luane said.

And with Mother's Day coming in a couple of days, Carlo also dedicated a sweet message to Luane, who just gave him the "best gift."

"Happy mother’s day for the first time, and thank you sa regalo na hatid mo...At this time na ganito 'yung sitwasyon natin dito, nairaos natin, and bilib ako sayo," he said.
