A homeless family took in a tired and hungry elderly man they met amid the enhanced community quarantine.
According to Bernadette Reyes' report for "24 Oras," Genesis Cunanan lives in a cart with his wife and child.
When the lockdown was imposed, they came across Lolo Gerry, who was already weak and starving.
"Si manong may dala siyang mga kalakal niya, and then syempre awa din kami dahil mabigat nga, sinakay na namin," Genesis said.
"Blessing naman 'yun eh, share your blessings di ba nakalagay kaya 'yun ang ginagawa ko," he added.
Daily wage earners have been hit hard by the loss of livelihood amid the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Many workers have temporarily lost their jobs and their families found themselves depending on aid from the government to survive.
In Binangonan, Rizal, an elderly couple began eating junk food with their rice until Good Samaritans noticed them and finally extended some assistance.
Meanwhile, a PUV driver and his family started living inside his jeepney after losing their source of income and running out of funds to pay rent. —MGP, GMA News
