Couple holds adorable Zoom wedding at home
A couple decided to hold their wedding the same way they met--online!
According to Athena Imperial's report on "24 Oras", Vianka Amurao and Coby Sarreal held a wedding at home while their guests "attended" the ceremony through a Zoom video call.
The couple, who first met each other through an online dating app, was supposed to get married in Sagada this November.
"Dahil naka-lockdown tayo and kinakausap namin 'yung families namin, we thought of, what if we celebrate our union through Zoom? Lahat ng tao may oras ngayon," Vianka said.
Coby added, "With COVID-19, definitely mangyayari ['yung wedding] next year pa, and we'll have a gathering of our loved ones and friends, medyo impossible mangyari. It's not safe."
The couple said that it only took them five days to prepare for the online wedding. They sent out their invitations online and even ordered their decorations online.
"We sent mga invitations on how to dress up and na they need wine glasses," Vianka said. "We had tech rehearsal the night before to see if all the guests could connect properly, if they could hear us."
The couple's entourage even had to walk in their own homes to enact the traditional ceremony.
After the entourage walked down the "aisle," Vianka's brothers, who also lived with the couple, walked her towards her groom.
Although the ceremony is not legally binding, one of their friends officiated the wedding as the couple said their "I do's" and their friends and family members watched on with love from the comfort of their own homes.
Vianka and Coby said that the setup may not be ideal for all the couples during the lockdown.
Coby advised, "Don't rush but don't be pressured kung ano sinasabi ng whoever. Remember na ang wedding is about you as a partner."
"It's important to decide na you're on the same page on what you want," Vianka added. "Always go back to what bound you as a couple. Even with the things we can't control, focus on the things you can control. We focused on love."
The couple said that since their Zoom wedding didn't legally make them husband and wife, they'll have a civil wedding as soon as the courts open. --Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
