Did Megan Young also propose to Mikael Daez?
After dishing out details on their engagement on their podcast, Mikael Daez and Megan Young revealed more stories on how they told their families that they are about to get married.
According to the two, they finally informed their families about their engagement, three to four years into it.
Mikael broke the news to Megan's mother Vicki, which he said went smoothly and hassle free for him.
"I remember Mama Vicky, she was in the house and I think we were in the kitchen and I took her side and I said 'Hey Tita Vicky, I have something to tell you. I proposed to Megan and I asked her to be my wife' and she started crying and hugging me and I said, 'I just want to let you know and I'll tell all the details.'"
When it was Megan's turn to tell Mikael's family, he said Megan always fumbled and had already failed to break the news more than five times during family gatherings.
Then one day at Mikael's house, he made sure that something was going to happen and that Megan will be able to break the news.
Mikael asked Megan to go up to his mom's room and call everybody in the house in and kneel down in front of him and propose to him, if not he would give her some consequence they did not reveal.
"He made it even harder for me, because this time I wasn't just telling them na hey we're engaged, this time I had to pretend to propose to him in front of his family," Megan narrated.
Mikael continued and narrated what had happened after they went up to his mother's room with almost all of his siblings hanging out there.
"Pasok siya [Megan] all of a sudden she stands up and she says 'I'll tell you guys something,' and she said 'Fofo come here I need to tell you something.' And sobrang awkward ng boses niya, Mikael narrated.
"That was the story of how Bonez told my family that we were engaged," Megan said.
"She kneels down in front of me and then says 'Will you marry me?'"
"My mom and my brothers and my sisters, lahat they were like 'Oh my god,' Emilio was banging the pillow, and then my mom was like hands on her head, she was like 'What is happening?' And si Megan hiyang hiya na still kneeling down looking up at me. I look down at her and I say 'Anong sinasabi mo?' I went off script."
"Nung mahihimatay na si Bonez sa takot at sa nerbyos, everybody was just like going wild. I said 'Everybody settle down. It was all a joke, we just wanna let you guys know we really are engaged and this isn't the first time that she's proposing to me.'"
The two revealed they have been engaged since 2014.
Megan and Mikael said they kept it a secret in the first year, told one person each on the second year, and then revealed to their families on the third or fourth year of their engagement.
The couple had two wedding ceremonies, one in Batangas on January 10, attended by just 10 guests, and another on January 25 in San Roque Church in Subic followed by a reception at a ranch. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
