How millennial couple Arny Ross and Frank Banogon became relationship and financial #goals
Several millennials dream of owning their own condominium unit, buying a car, or having a flourishing business.
They can take inspiration from millennial couple Frank Banogon and Arny Ross Roque who achieved all of that.
Achieving financial stability and preparing for a future together wasn't a smooth-sailing journey, Frank and Arny admitted on a Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) episode.
The couple got together in college. After graduation, the two decided to pursue their chosen careers — Arny as an actress and Frank as a freelance photographer shortly after his stint as a GMA-7 production assistant and researcher.?
Frank and Arny experience some bumps in their relationships but they were able to pull through and stay together.
When they started preparing for a future together, they both realized that their income was not enough. Frank started out as a freelance photographer for children's parties and civil weddings, charging a talent fee of P1500 per shoot with his rates going up as he improved in his craft.
"Minsan naiisip ko, pag wala akong shoot, wala akong income. So sabi ko hindi pupwedeng matitigil yung income kasi syempre nagre-ready rin ako for our future," Frank admitted.
As risky as it was, they decided to pool in their life savings for a milk tea business.
According to the couple, construction costs took up a huge chunk of their expenses, nearly draining Frank's bank account.
"Sabi ko...wala na akong ibibigay. So nag-pray lang ako and talaga nag-provide si Lord ng provision," Frank said, sharing he shortly had a client, who paid highly for his photography services.
And so their first milk tea shop in Cavite was born, with the couple helping out in the operations as they could only afford to hire four baristas.
He said that he sometimes bought the ingredients, washed the cups, blended the drinks and served customers. Arny also helped out as a cashier.
Because of their hard work and dedication, the couple was able to open five more milk tea branches.
They soon earned enough money to buy their own condominium unit and car. Frank even got to buy a photography studio for himself.
He also recently proposed to Arny during a performance at a dance concert, to which Arny said yes.
Frank and Arny took a big risk in starting a business, saved on costs, and worked hard until they could afford a condominium, car and photography studio. Most of all, they achieved their goals together.
Now that's relationship and financial goals right there. — Angelica Y. Yang/LA, GMA News
