Japeth Aguilar reveals he had different wedding proposal plan up his sleeve but felt ‘it was the right time’

Exactly one week after getting down on one knee and proposing marriage to his long-time girlfriend Cassandra Naida, Gilas Pilipinas player Japeth Aguilar revealed on Instagram that he actually had a different plan up his sleeve.

Posting an unedited video of his proposal in NAIA, Japeth said “I was planning something else on a different day to propose but I couldn’t wait any longer.”

Describing it has the “right time,” Japeth revealed he’s known Cassandra was “the one for a while now.”

“This woman has been amazing to me,” he said.

Last week, upon arriving in Manila after helping the Philippines qualify for the Fiba World Cup, Japeth proposed marriage to Cassandra.

His fiancée — eee, fiancée! — said the ring was “exactly what I wanted: just one huge black diamond platinum band.”
