Rob Mananquil and Maxene Magalona's intimate church wedding

A few days prior to their beach wedding, Maxene Magalona and Rob Mananquil said their "I dos" in front of the altar in an intimate church ceremony.

Maxene shared a series of photos from the church wedding held on January 8 on her Instagram account. In the caption, she said they received the holy sacrament of matrimony with only 33 people as their guests, including their immediate families and principal sponsors.

Being Catholics, the couple decided to have a small church wedding first without letting go of their dream of having an outdoor ceremony.

"We didn’t have coordinators, a wedding march and a mass; just the actual wedding rites," Maxene wrote on Instagram.

The couple were wed at Santuario de San Antonio Parish. "We chose the church where we completed Simbang Gabi mass during our first year of dating so that we could visit it from time to time," Maxene shared.

Rob's off-the-rack suit was from Hong Kong, tailored by Joey Samson, while Maxene's stunning white dress was designed by Mark Bumgarner. Their matching leather jackets that together read "Just Married" were styled by the groom.

Maxene's sister Saab was present at the church wedding, but was unable to travel to Boracay for the beach wedding due to her pregnancy. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas / AT, GMA News
