BEYOND THE GRANDEUR

15 things we learned about Vicki, Hayden, and love and marriage from watching the full #aKhoandmyBeloved video

Their September 2 wedding in Paris trended for days on end and was one of the biggest and most talked about events of 2017.

Dr. Vicki Belo and her four wedding dresses, the stellar guest list, the beautiful welcome cruise down the River Siene, and the unbelievable reception at Opera Garnier – they easily eclipsed the reason why it happened: Dr. Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo love each other so much they want it official.

On her blog this weekend, Vicki announced that the full 30-minute video of their engrandeng kasalan is already up online. Before dismissing the video as a throwback, allow us to say: it actually went beyond.

Not only did the video beautifully capture the deep, raw, love and between Hayden and Vicki. It also told essential lessons on love. In the video, we learned more about the groom, the bride, and more beautiful things about love and marriage, and Paris.

Below are our favorites.

1. They’ve been together for 12 years. Which Vicki likened to a roller coaster ride.

2. Hayden feels unworthy of love. In his incredibly honest vows, Hayden revealed how unworthy of love he feels. And he said when Vicki looks at him, she sees a man he could only hope to be.

3. “Irresistibly alluring” is the Christian way to say “seductive.” Hayden wanted to tell Vicki she was “seductive” but their pastor advised him to say “irresistibly alluring" instead.

4. Hayden only made one promise to Vicki. “Walang Iwanan," he said, before saying he will be Vicki's "forever kakampi".

5. How to tell that you already love another. If you can’t live without him/her. Hayden in his vows revealed that before the wedding, Vicki asked him how he knew he loved her. He answered: “I know I love you because I can’t live without you.” Cry.

6. Hayden is very protective. Which is why Vicki feels safe around him.

7. Vicki had a very difficult 2016. This proved to be the deal-maker, the thing that made her realize they could get married and have a go for it. “It was a very difficult time for me, very scary, very anxious time for me and you were with me every step of the way. At my weakest moment you were my rock,” Vicki tearfully says.

8. Their marriage has three elements. These are: Vicki, Hayden, and God.

9. The Opera Garnier was built in 1861. Philippine Tatler editor Anton San Diego said this in his speech.

10. Hayden was his family’s Aga Mulach look-alike. In his very entertaining speech where he welcomed Vicki — his new daughter-in-law — into the family, Hayden's father revealed the groom was his family's heartthrob.

11. Jun-Jun is how his father calls Hayden. Again, something we learned in the speech!

12. Hayden made his father proud. Very proud and at various times like when he taught himself how to play the piano, when he entered show business, when he became a doctor. But not as much as when he faced the consequences of his actions and became a better man because of them.

13. There is always a choice. One of the speakers issued this very important reminder to Hayden and Vicki, which may as well be a reminder to everybody: We all have a choice. "Your everyday goal is to tiptoe and choose the highest expression of love and kindness."

14. Didn't know how humble Hayden is. Displaying impressive humility, Hayden asked everybody to pray for him and Vicki. “I humbly ask for everyone’s support. From this day on, may there be no more Team Hayden and Team Vicki. Help us to stay united in love. Pray for us. Guide us cause we need your love."

15. They were there because of Jesus. Before ending his speech, Hayden credited the Big J: "Lastly, if you found any encouragement from what you witnessed today, it’s because of Jesus. We are here because of Jesus.” — LA, GMA News
