Kara David recognized as Star Icon for Investigative Journalism and Media Excellence at Global Filipino Icon Awards 2025

Kara David was honored with the Star Icon for Investigative Journalism and Media Excellence award at this year's The Global Filipino Icon Awards.

According to Emil Sumangil's report on "24 Oras" Wednesday, the award-winning Kapuso broadcast journalist personally received the recognition at the awarding ceremony on April 5 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The award recognizes her contributions in the media industry as a reporter and documentarist and for being an instrument of truth.

Per the report, the "I-Witness" and "Pinas Sarap" host expressed in her speech her admiration for the talents and hard work of Overseas Filipino Workers, whom she considers true icons. She also said she will continue doing her work and being an inspiration to her countrymen.

David currently hosts GMA Network's flagship and acclaimed documentary program "I-Witness" alongside Howie Severino, Atom Araullo, Mav Gonzales, and John Consulta.

She also hosts GMA Public Affairs' infotainment show "Pinas Sarap."

In March, David and her fellow "I-Witness" hosts were awarded Best Documentary Program Hosts at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television.

In the same month, she was honored with the Media Excellence in Pubic Affairs Hosting Award (Female) for "I-Witness" at the Lauris Nobilis Media Excellence Awards. —CDC, GMA Integrated News
