GMA Network personalities win at Laurus Nobilis Media Excellence Awards 2025

GMA Network personalities, namely Kara David, Pia Arcangel, Kim Atienza, and Ashley Ortega, were among the distinguished awardees at this year’s Laurus Nobilis Media Excellence Awards.

Kara garnered the Media Excellence in Public Affairs Hosting Award (Female) for GMA Public Affairs' award-winning documentary program "I-Witness" where she serves as one of the hosts.

Pia won the Media Excellence in TV News Presentation Award (Female) for GMA Integrated News' flagship newscast “24 Oras Weekend."

Meanwhile, Kuya Kim took home the Media Excellence in Public Affairs Hosting Award (Male) for the infotainment program "Dami Mong Alam, Kuya Kim."

Ashley received the Media Excellence in Television Acting (Female) for her role in GMA's family drama series "Pulang Araw."

In their video messages, Kara and Kuya Kim expressed gratitude for the recognition.

“Ito po ay magsisilbing inspirasyon para lalo pa po naming pagbutihin ang aming trabaho hindi lang sa 'i-Witness' kundi pati na rin sa 'Pinas Sarap,'” Kara said.

“This is so inspiring. I will do my best to be the better Kuya Kim pa for you,” Kuya Kim also said.

Pia said the award ''is a reminder that we must remain steadfast in our fight against disinformation, and in our commitment to truthful and factual reporting.''

The Laurus Nobilis Media Excellence Awards celebrates media professionals who exemplify excellence and integrity in their respective fields.

Organized by the Lyceum of the Philippines-Cavite, the gathering honors individuals whose work aligns with the university’s values.
