GMA Network named Best TV Station of the Year at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television

As it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, GMA Network received a major honor at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television, where it was named Best TV Station of the Year—a recognition that solidifies its standing as a leader in Philippine broadcasting.

Various GMA programs, personalities, and artists also bagged achievements at the awarding ceremony on Sunday. 

"Unang Hirit" was hailed as Best Morning Show, while its hosts Arnold Clavio, Lyn Ching, Suzi Entrata, Ivan Mayrina, Susan Enriquez, Mariz Umali, Matteo Guidicelli, Shaira Diaz, Kaloy Tingcungco, Anjo Pertierra, JR Royol, and Atty. Gaby Concepcion took home the Best Morning Show Hosts award. 

"Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," long beloved by Filipino audiences, was once again recognized—this time as Best Magazine Show, while "The Atom Araullo Specials" took home the Best Documentary Program award.

The legacy documentary program "I-Witness" earned a special milestone, entering the Hall of Fame as Best Documentary Program. 

The hosts of "I-Witness" — Kara David, Howie Severino, Atom Araullo, Mav Gonzales, and John Consulta —were also awarded Best Documentary Program Hosts, a testament to their excellence in storytelling.

In the realm of public service, "Wish Ko Lang" was named Best Public Service Program, while the heartwarming GMA Afternoon Prime series "Abot-Kamay na Pangarap" won Best Daytime Drama.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes added two more accolades to his name, winning both Best Game Show Host for "Family Feud" and Best Educational Show Host for "Amazing Earth," proving his versatility and charisma on-screen.

"Magpakailanman" was recognized as Best Drama Anthology, with its actors also earning individual honors. Paolo Contis was awarded Best Single Performance by an Actor for the emotional episode “A Son’s Karma,” while Gladys Reyes took home Best Single Performance by an Actress for her powerful portrayal in “Inaanak, Inanakan.”

GMA’s well-loved comedy series "Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kuwento" was declared Best Comedy Show, while "Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis" triumphed as Best Mini-Series. Nature and education-based program "Born to be Wild" was also recognized as Best Educational Program.

"My Mother, My Story" was named Best Celebrity Talk Show, with the King of Talk Boy Abunda winning Best Celebrity Talk Show Host. He also led two more programs to victory: "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" as Best Showbiz-Oriented Talk Show, and "Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda" as Best Public Affairs Program, with him and his co-hosts also recognized as Best Public Affairs Program Hosts.

Dr. Edinell Calvario was honored as Best Public Service Program Host for "Healing Galing," while "It’s Showtime" received the title of Best Variety Show.

Dennis Trillo was also recognized for his excellence, winning Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "Pulang Araw."

He tied in the category with Arnold Reyes, who appeared in "My Guardian Alien."

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz stood out as they were named Best Talent Search Program Hosts for "The Clash" 2024. And finally, one of today’s most talked-about love teams, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco—known to fans as “BarDa”—received the prestigious German Moreno Power Tandem Award for "Pulang Araw."

The late veteran actress Gloria Romero was also honored with a Posthumous Award.

These awards reflect not only GMA Network’s commitment to quality programming, but also its deep connection with Filipino audiences through stories that inform, inspire, and entertain.
