'Hana Kimi' is getting an anime adaptation

Remember the popular Asian series "Hana Kimi" that aired in Philippines back in 2008? It's finally getting an anime adaptation!

The website for the upcoming anime dropped a teaser video on Wednesday, showing the three main characters Mizuki Ashiya, Izumi Sano, and Shuichi Nakatsu.

They will be voiced by Aya Yamane (Liliana Masquerade in "Re:Zero"), Taku Yashiro (Sanosuke Sagara in "Rurouni Kenshin" 2023), and Kikunosuke Toya (Choji Tomiyama in "Wind Breaker"), respectively.

Hana Kimi is based on the Japanese manga "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e" created by the late Hisaya Nakajo, which ran from 1996 to 2004 in Hana to Yume magazine.

It was adapted into a Taiwanese live action series in 2006 and a Japanese live action series in 2007.

The story follows teenage girl Mizuki, who disguises herself as male and enrolls in an all-boys school to get close to her idol, athlete Izumi.
