Denise Julia is one of the rising OPM stars today. The 22-year-old Filipina singer is known for her R&B and soulful music with her hit tracks "B.A.D." and "NVMD," among others.
But who exactly is Denise Julia? Here are some five facts to know about her.
1. Born to be an artist
Born Julia Denise Lee on February 24, 2002, the artist has been into music and arts since she was young.
In a May 2024 vlog with Internet personality Ayn Bernos, the singer opened up on her humble beginnings as an artist.
According to Denise Julia, before she discovered her flare in music, she was once a stage actress and a public speaker, competing in some extemporaneous speech contests as a kid.
Denise Julia was also part of the Ateneo Musicians' Pool when she was still a diplomacy and international relations student at the Ateneo de Manila University.
In 2021, Denise Julia released her first single "Difficult." She has since released several singles and two EPs, Sweet Nothings Chapter 1 and 2.
2. She appeared in the music video of 'Marikit'
Before entering the music scene, Denise Julia appeared in the music video "Marikit" by Juan and Kyle in 2020.
According to Denise Julia, she started writing songs after her stint in the music video.
3. A morena icon
Denise Julia is proud of her morena skin.
In the same vlog with Vernos, she said she used to do some things to fit a certain beauty standard of the society.
Denise Julia said she eventually realized that she had to embrace her true self as she wanted to represent women and little children who look like her.

Denise Julia has been dubbed by her fans as the "Patron Saint of Situationship" because of her songs that are mostly relatable for those who have experienced failed relationships and talking stages.
For instance, her song "NVMD" talks about hanging on in a relationship despite being ignored and hurt by their partner.

5. She held her first concert 'Sweet Nothings: The Denise Julia Experience'
Just this December 14, Denise Julia headlined her first-ever concert titled "Sweet Nothings: The Denise Julia Experience" at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
After the show, she took to social media to share an emotional message to her fans.
"This concert wasn’t just a show—it saved me. This year has been one of the hardest of my life. I’ve faced heartbreak, crippling anxiety, and days where I couldn’t even show up for myself," she said.
"This night reminded me of my purpose. You reminded me. You proved that I'm not alone, and as long as I have you, I can keep going," she added. "I love you all endlessly. Thank you for everything."
