BJ Pascual reveals frustrating encounter with Denise Julia for supposed shoot: 'I paid for everything'

BJ Pascual revealed a frustrating encounter with up-and-coming singer Denise Julia for a supposed shoot.

In Acushla Obusan's (Killa Kush) latest podcast episode, BJ said one of his stressful experiences as a photographer was with the "NVMD" hitmaker.

BJ said Denise's team reached out to him for a shoot in support of the singer's latest album.

Despite hearing "so many bad things" about Denise, the celebrity photographer said he agreed to do the job.

"I got my friends on board, even my friends who did not want to work with her because of the stories," BJ said in the podcast.

"Sabi ko sige na, 'Pagandahin natin siya.' Nakita ko naman kasi may potential, may igaganda pa," he added.

After several meetings, BJ said he got his team ready for the shoot to the point that they already rented a studio, and his friend, Princess Barretto, had already been doing the set design the day before the supposed shoot.

On the night before their scheduled shoot, BJ said Denise's manager wanted to cancel on them because their chosen hairstylist wasn't available.

BJ recalled it was stressful because he was in another shoot when Denise's team tried to cancel their schedule.

"Girl, this was already 10 p.m. Call time namin is 6 a.m., siya [Denise] 8 a.m. How many hours na lang before the shoot? We have been setting the set since 4 p.m.," he said.

In the end, BJ told his manager to cancel the shoot, but they had to pay for everything due to the last-minute changes.

"Biglang nag-backtrack si [Denise's] manager. Why did I go with everything, wala pa naman daw confirmation," BJ recalled.

"Walang confirmation? Excuse me! This is the day before the shoot. Kayo ang nagpumilit mag-shoot on this day," he added.

After re-reading their conversations, BJ said he thought that Denise's team found the shoot costs too pricey.

"Ayaw nila ituloy, ayaw mag bayad, so sabi ko sa manager ko, 'Sige, i-cancel mo na lang, ako na magbabayad'," he said. "I paid for everything."

BJ also said he hadn't heard from Denise since then.

"I never heard from her, no thank you, no sorry, no anything," he said.

Denise hasn't responded to the issue since it trended on social media over the weekend, but she announced on her Instagram Stories that she is taking a social media break.

"Detoxing from the digital world. Apps deleted, focus restored," she wrote. "Will be back next year."

GMA News Online has reached out to John Vincent, Denise Julia's manager, for comment. He has yet to respond as of this writing.
