Almost 6,000 blood bags were collected by GMA Kapuso Foundation through its various Sagip-Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Projects nationwide
According to "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the foundation and the Philippine Marine Corps' 1st Marine Brigade held a bloodletting activity in Camp Iranun in Barira, Maguindanao del Norte.
"Nakakagaan ng loob at lahat-lahat nagkaisa. Nakita natin 'yung volunteerism and 'yung kanilang commitment and passion," said 6th Infantry Division Commander, Major General Antonio Nafarrete.
Bloodletting activities were also held this year at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio, Benguet and the Training Command of the Philippine Army in Capas, Tarlac.
Per PMA Superintendent Caesar Bernard Valencia, they donate blood annually as part of their foundation anniversary.
"Kahit ano pa tayo, we can always save lives sa simpleng bagay na pagdodonate ng dugo," he said.
Training Command Chief, Major General Danilo Benavides, also said that blood donation is a way for them to show their compassion to their countrymen.
A total of 5,952 blood bags were collected from the Sagip-Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Projects of GMA Kapuso Foundation.
To support more of the foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit GMA Kapuso Foundation's website for more information.
