'Tangled' live action is in the works
Are we ready to see Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on the big screen?
Deadline and Variety reported on Wednesday that a live action adaptation of the Disney animated film "Tangled" is in development.
According to the reports, Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey, the director behind "The Greatest Showman" is in talks to direct the film.
No casting has been revealed.
The original "Tangled" film was released in 2010 and starred Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn, also known as Eugene. It was directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard.
The film tells the story of the long-lost princess Rapunzel who escapes a secluded tower for the first time to explore the world against her foster mother's wish. She embarks on an adventure with the handsome thief Flynn.
It features the Oscar-nominated song "I See The Light."
Following the success of the film, Disney released spinoffs such as the "Tangled: Ever After," "Tangled: Before Ever After," and 2017 TV series "Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure."
