Over 95k individuals receive help from GMA Kapuso Foundation following recent typhoons
Over 95,000 individuals who have been affected by the onslaught of the recent typhoons in the country received help from GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan project.
According to “24 Oras,” Friday, among those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Nika were father and son Nitoy and Kenneth Hugo and their papaya harvest.
“Hindi na po namin puwede ibenta ‘yung mga bunga, kasi marami na po siyang damage,” Kenneth said.
Meanwhile, Salome Llavore from Bato, Camarines Sur, built a makeshift shelter on the side of the road after Typhoon Kristine destroyed their house.
“Minsan hindi kami makatulog, akala namin babanggain na kami ng sasakyan. Humihingi po ako ng konting tulong para maka-recover din kami,” she said.
Under Operation Bayanihan, GMA Kapuso Foundation delivered help to 9,600 residents in Batanes affected by Typhoon Julian and 44,066 individuals in Batangas, Quezon Province, Bicol Region, and Cagayan Valley who were affected by Typhoon Kristine
