Everything you need to know about Max, the newest streaming service that launched in the PH
Max launched in the Philippines on November 19, Tuesday, and it's got film and TV fanatics excited.
Before getting started, here is everything you need to know about the new streaming platform.
HBO Go to Max
Starting on Tuesday, all existing HBO Go subscriptions will be redirected to Max.
It is a streaming service by Warner Bros. Discovery and holds brands like HBO, Harry Potter, Cartoon Network, and the DC Universe.
Aside from classic Hollywood movies and Max Originals, the platform also provides programming from Discovery, TLC, AFN, Food Network, ID, and HGTV.

Max is home to several series and films, all of which exciting as they cover various worlds and genres.
The platform's original series section includes “Dune: Prophecy,” “Euphoria,” “House of the Dragon,” “The Last of Us,” “The White Lotus,” “The Penguin,” and “Harry Potter: The Wizards of Baking.”
It also includes well-loved series like “Game of Thrones,” “Friends,” “Sex and the City,” “Rick and Morty,” “Drag Race Philippines,” and “On the Job.”
Max, too, holds blockbuster films like “Aquaman,” “Barbie,” “The Conjuring,” and the complete “Harry Potter” and “The Lord of the Rings” movies, among many others.
Upcoming films and series
Aside from series like “Dune: Prophecy” and “Harry Potter: The Wizards of Baking”," which both premiered on Tuesday, Max has more content up its sleeve to offer viewers in the near future.
The “Game of Thrones” prequel, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” is set to come out on Max in 2025. The series is set 72 years after “House of the Dragon” and 100 years before “Game of Thrones.”
“It: Welcome to Derry,” a prequel to the “It” horror films, is also slated for release next year and will feature the events before the first movie. The horror series will also highlight the origins of the murderous clown, Pennywise, with Bill Skarsgard reprising his role.
“Harry Potter” will also be rebooted as a series, and is scheduled to premiere on Max in 2026.
Subscriptions
Max has three subscription plans based on budget and viewing habits.
Max launched the Mobile plan, which starts at P149 for a month and P1,040 for a year. This plan is exclusive in the Philippines and Indonesia.
Mobile is only available on phones and tablets, and will let users watch on one device. It has standard HD video resolution with 15 downloads available to watch on the go.
The Standard plan is priced at P269 a month and P1,890 a year. Users are allowed to stream on two devices at once with full HD video resolution and is available on more devices, including TVs, with 30 downloads available.
Finally, Ultimate is priced at P399 for a month and P2,790 for a year. Users can stream up to four devices at once, with 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos. More devices including TVs are available in this plan, which comes with 100 downloads.
