Transgender woman among candidates set to compete in Miss Universe Philippines - Pampanga 2025

Miss Universe Philippines - Pampanga has unveiled the official candidates for its 2025 competition.

Sixteen beauty queens from Pampanga will compete in hopes of bringing home the crown and representing Pampanga in the next Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

Among the candidates named is Keylyn Trajano, a transgender woman from Siñura, Municipality of Porac.

“Keylyn Trajano, proudly representing her Kapampangan roots, makes history as the first trans woman to compete in Miss Universe Pampanga 2025. A successful model, entrepreneur, and advocate, she champions inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment,” MUPH - Pampanga wrote.

More details about the MUPH - Pampanga 2025 pageant have yet to be announced.

In 2018, Spain’s Angela Ponce made history as the first transgender contestant in Miss Universe.

In 2023, two transgender candidates also joined the pageant, namely Rikkie Valerie Kollé of the Netherlands and Marina Machete of Portugal.
