Logina Salah of Egypt proudly competes in Miss Universe 2024 despite skin condition

Logina Salah of Egypt has nothing but pride as she competed in the Miss Universe 2024 despite her skin condition.

In a roundtable discussion of the Miss Universe 2024, the Egyptian beauty queen opened up on her struggles with Lupus which caused her to have Vitiligo, a skin condition which causes patches of skin to lose pigment.

In an Instagram post, Salah said she used to be embarrassed and ashamed of her condition.

"For many years I used to think of my patches (Vitiligo) as a source of embarrassment and shame, and today's dress is inspired by how I celebrate my patches everyday now and I see them as colorful as the patches on this dress and the uneven patches on this dress is how I see myself and my skin as imperfectly imperfect. We are re-writing history and paving the way to a peaceful free of bullying universe," she wrote.

During the pageant's coronation night, Salah finished in the Top 30, making her the first representative of Egypt to advance in the semifinals of Miss Universe.

Aside from being a beauty queen, Salah, a Dubai-based makeup artist, is also a mother to a wonderful 10-year-old daughter.

At the end of the competition, Victoria Thelvig of Denmark was hailed Miss Universe 2024.

Meanwhile, Philippine bet Chelsea Manalo also fished in the Top 30 and was hailed the first-ever Miss Universe Asia.
