Chelsea Manalo’s Miss Universe prelims evening gown embodies the Philippine waters
Chelsea Manalo has nothing but gratitude to Manny Halasan, the Filipino designer behind her evening gown for the Miss Universe preliminary competition.
Sharing photos of herself wearing the blue ball gown creation, Chelsea said that she is forever grateful to Manny for making her “live this unforgettable moment.”
The Philippine bet also said that the designer is one of the many people “who’s helped make my dreams come true.”
In a following post, Chelsea shared a video of herself all smiles as she swayed the voluminous, flowy skirt of her gown.
“Dancing with the waves of the sea, for the Philippines,” she wrote in the caption.
Prior to the evening gown portion, Chelsea paid tribute to Christianity and Islam in her national costume and also slayed the runway in a blue two-piece bikini during the swimsuit round.
Chelsea will vie for the country's fifth Miss Universe crown on the coronation night on November 16 (November 17, Philippine time).
The 25-year-old won the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 crown in May, making her the first Filipino-Black American candidate to ever win the national title.
