Chelsea Manalo on Miss Universe 2024: 'I'm ready to give it my all for my country'
Chelsea Manalo is determined to get the country’s fifth Miss Universe crown.
The Bulakenya queen reflected on her journey in an Instagram post, featuring stunning portraits of her in a white off-shoulder gown by JustBonita.
Now in Mexico ahead of the coronation night, Chelsea is “feeling the same excitement I had during my Miss Universe Philippines journey.”
“Back then, it was just me, my mom, and my dad—my team, my rock. They supported me every step of the way, and their love and encouragement were everything,” she said.
But now that Chelsea had her Miss Universe closed-door interview, she said the feeling is different.
“I’m no longer just representing my family. I’m carrying the hopes and dreams of the entire Philippines with me,” she said.
“The pride I feel is immeasurable, and I’m ready to give it my all for my country. Let’s do this!” she added.
Chelsea will vie for the country's fifth Miss Universe crown on the coronation night on November 16 (November 17, Philippine time). The Preliminary and National Costume competitions are set for November 14.
The 25-year-old won the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 crown in May, making her the first Filipino-Black American candidate to ever win the national title.
