In an episode of "The Howie Severino Podcast" in 2021, Robert said art is a form of healing and helps people forget problems.
"If you're really focused sa ginagawa mong 'yon, kinakalimutan mo lahat—if you have pain, if you have problems. You forget it and you just focus on the art or whatever you enjoy doing," he said.
An award-winning artist who received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1984, Robert gave free online workshops for art lovers stuck at home during the pandemic.
He previously hosted GMA-7's "Art Is-Kool."
