In 'Lutong Bahay' with Mikee Quintos, Chariz Solomon opens up on longingness to study again
In Mikee Quintos' new show "Lutong Bahay," Chariz Solomon opened up that she still longs to study again.
Mikee and Kuya Dudut visited Chariz and her brother, actor Fourth Solomon, for the show's latest episode, where they got to cook ginisang munggo and tokwa't baboy with the siblings.
Among the questions that Mikee asked the "Bubble Gang" comedienne and "StarStruck" alumna was if she had any bitterness towards her parents because she did not get to finish school.
Per Chariz, she does not feel bitter for not finishing school like her siblings, but she feels a sense of regret.
"Meron akong panghihinayang kasi lahat sila nakatapos, ngayon meron talaga akong space. Lalo na kung may anak ka na, 'Ba't ikaw di ka nagtapos?' So gusto mo lang maging example," she shared.
The Sparkle star also said that when it comes to having diskarte or diploma, it's better to have both.
"Hindi naman lahat 'yung sinasbi nilang diskarte o diploma, totoo 'yun pareho, pero maganda kung meron ka pareho. Hindi naman lahat s-swertehin sa diskarte. Hindi niyo nga rin pwede sabihin na, 'Ay hindi panghabambuhay ang pag-aartista. Well, depende 'yan," she said.
When asked by Mikee to describe this "space" inside her, she answered, "Meron talagang longing na gustong mag-aral talaga."
She added that she wants to learn culinary so she could use her skills at home.
Chariz was once a tourism student at the University of Santo Tomas, but she was not able to finish her studies.
At the time, she dropped out of university and attempted to follow her mom in Japan to find work there, but she was denied a Japan visa.
This led her to audition for "StarStruck: The Next Level," joining the fourth season in 2006 with Kris Bernal and Rich Asuncion.
Chariz stars in the Kapuso comedy show "Bubble Gang," which airs on Sundays at 6:10 p.m. on GMA Network and simulcast on GTV.
