Chelsea Manalo channels her inner Rosalinda ahead of Miss Universe pageant in Mexico

Chelsea Manalo is straight out of a Mexican telenovela in her latest photoshoot!

On Instagram, the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 shared photos of her in a field with rose bushes. She had a rose behind her ear and wore a red dress, ala Thalia's Rosalinda.

"Channeling the iconic spirit of Rosalinda, embracing the passion and beauty of Mexico!" she wrote in the caption.

Mexico is the host of this year's Miss Universe pageant, which will be held on November 16 (Mexican time).

"Rosalinda" aired in the country in 1999. It was also released in the Philippines with a Tagalog dub and a Filipino adaptation starring Carla Abellana aired in 2009.

Chelsea is vying for the Philippines's fifth Miss Universe crown. She encouraged her fans to support her by voting for her in the Miss Universe app and the Voice for Change competition.

Previously, the beauty queen from Bulacan dressed up as Princess Tiana of "The Princess and the Frog."

She also released her official head shot for Miss Universe 2024.
