2,286 families affected by Kristine in Albay, Camarines Sur receive relief goods from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 2,286 families who were affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine in the isolated barangays of Pantao in Libon, Albay and Panoypoyan in Bula, Camarines Sur received relief goods from GMA Kapuso Foundation through its Operation Bayanihan project.

According to "24 Oras" Monday, Brgy. Pantao got isolated after its four roads collapsed due to the onslaught of Kristine, making vehicles unable to pass through to deliver aid. Vehicles are also unable to enter Brgy. Panoypoyan because the flood levels in the area are still high.

GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to distribute relief goods to the two isolated barangays for the first time via Cebu Pacific Air and a presidential chopper, with the help of the 9th Infantry Division Headquarters.

"'Yung mga prioridad natin ay 'yung mga kalsada or mga lugar na hindi naaabot ng mga sasakyang panglupa. Nagkukulang na sila ng mga pangunahing pangangailangan nila, lalo na 'yung sa pagkain at tubig," said Major German Franco Roldan, Chief of the Division Public Affairs Office, 9ID.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting in-kind donations for communities affected by Kristine. These include rice, drinking water, noodles, canned goods, sugar, hygiene kits, sleeping mats, blankets, slippers, towels, and detergent.

In-kind donations may be sent to the GMA Kapuso Foundation office from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the GMA Kapuso Center, GMA Network Drive, cor. Samar Street, Diliman, Quezon City.

These may also be sent to the GMA Kapuso Foundation Warehouse from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 366 GMA Compound, Tandang Sora Ave., Brgy. Culiat, Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
