Residents in Quezon Province and Batangas affected by Kristine receive food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation


Residents in Quezon Province and Batangas, who were affected by the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, received food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation through its Operation Bayanihan project.

According to “24 Oras,” Friday, among the affected residents in Catanauan, Quezon was Jocelyn Ferrer.

“Sabi ko nga din po diyan sa pamilya ko, hindi baleng maiwanan ‘yung mga gamit natin. Buhay natin ang isalba natin,” she said.

More than 1,000 residents were given food packs in Catanauan. GMA Kapuso Foundation also gave porridge.

According to Engr. Marvelous M. Ferrer, Officer-in-Charge of the Quezon Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the residents in the evacuation center were finally able to go home.

Help was also given to some residents in Canda Ilaya, as well as Lipa, Bauan, and Lemery in Batangas.

Those who wish to lend a helping hand may donate via Metrobank, Land Bank, Banco De Oro, Bank of Commerce, Philippine National Bank, UnionBank, and Cebuana Lhuillier. Donations may also be sent through GCash, Shopee, Lazada, Globe Rewards, and Metrobank credit card.

Several malls and establishments have also offered free overnight parking, Wi-Fi, restroom use, and phone charging stations to those who may need assistance amid Kristine.
