PWDs in Oriental Mindoro receive arm and hand prostheses, wheelchairs from GMA Kapuso Foundation, LN-4 Foundation

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro received arm and hand prostheses, as well as wheelchairs through an initiative by the GMA Kapuso Foundation and LN-4 Foundation with Clarendon College.

According to "24 Oras" Wednesday, among the beneficiaries of an arm and hand prosthesis is nine-year-old Joy, who was born without hands and feet.

Despite her condition, the young girl shares her hobbies and activities through inspiring vlogs.

"Gusto ko pong makita po ako ng buong tao para po mapakita ko po na kaya ko po gawin 'yung gusto kong gawin," she said.

Joy's mother, Lheecel Arellano, also shared that they teach their daughter not to be deterred by what people may say about her, adding that she and her husband serve as Joy's hands and feet.

Meanwhile, Anthony Untalan of LN-4 Foundation said that the beneficiaries will find the prosthetic hands useful in their day-to-day activities.

"Marami silang pwedeng paggamitan nung prosthetic hands kasi nakaka-grip naman," he said. "Pwede na siyang makahawak ng mga bagay na pwede nilang gamitin sa pang araw-araw nila, pwede na sila makapagsulat."

Aside from arm and hand prostheses, 10 wheelchairs were also distributed to PWDs and senior citizens.

"It's life changing po sa ating mga beneficiaries at sobra ang pasalamat ng Clarendon College sa Kapuso Foundation, sa LN-4 Foundation," said Lucille Bacay, VP for Operations of Clarendon College.
