Jessica Villarubin, Katrina Velarde on being open with surgical enhancements: 'Halata naman po'

Jessica Villarubin and Katrina Velarde are proud to admit that they have undergone surgical enhancements.

On Wednesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the music divas both said that doing so helped them improve their confidence.

"First of all po, halata naman po," Katrina said laughing, with Jessica agreeing. "May mga old photos po, so parang wala din pong sense talaga mag-deny."

Both Katrina and Jessica's first procedures were sponsored, so they said they really had to talk about it.

"Serious po is actually parang important din po kasi nowadays 'yung physical appearance din po, and I think I'm more confident po na nagpagawa ako," Katrina said.

Katrina had chin and lip fillers, a nonsurgical eyelid enhancement, and rhinoplasty.

Jessica shared the same sentiments on why she never denied getting enhancements.

"Kasi makikita man sa tao na [nagpa-ilong]. Magde-deny pa ako, Tito Boy, na 'Hindi po ako nagpagawa talaga,' ta's naganito na 'yung ilong ko. Kasi ang layo po kasi," she said.

Jessica opened up that she experienced getting bullied when she was younger.

"Magaling ako, ta's pangit, ganoon. Wala kang star quality, like hindi ka—'yun 'yung kinalakihan ko, Tito Boy," she said.

Katrina added, "Laging, 'Ang galing mo, kaso…' Ang na-realize ko po ngayon lalo na sa music industry, ang tao po, medyo weird lang, Tito Boy, pero ang tao mas nanonood na sila. Hindi na sila nakikinig. Mas gusto na nila 'yung mas maayos or magandang maganda ka bago ka nila pakinggan. Parang 'yun na 'yung mas nasu-support po ngayon."

Jessica won the third season of "The Clash" and is part of Queendom with Rita Daniela, Thea Astley, Mariane Osabel, Hannah Precillas, and Julie Anne San Jose.

Meanwhile, Katrina started her singing career by joining many contests.

The pair collaborated in 2023, singing a medley of Air Supply's greatest hits.
