GMA Network won big at the Gawad Pasado 2024!

"Firefly," produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs and directed by Zig Dulay, took home six awards, including Pinakapasadong Pelikula ng Taon (shared with "GomBurZa" and "Third World Romance"), as well as Pinakapasadong Batang Aktor for Euwenn. Mikaell.

The films other awards include Pinakapasadong Editing for Benjo Ferrer, Pinakapasadong Sinematograpiya for Neil Daza (shared with Carlo Canlas Mendoza for “GomBurZa"), Pinakapasadong Istorya for GMA Public Affairs Senior Assistant Vice President Angeli Atienza, and Pinakapasadong Katuwang na Aktor for Epy Quizon (shared with Enchong Dee for “GomBurZa”).

Aside from “Firefly,” Sparkle star Ken Chan bagged the Pinakapasadong Aktor Award for his role as Nico in “Papa Mascot.” He shared the award with “GomBurZa” actor Cedrick Juan.

GMA Integrated News broadcast journalist Sandra Aguinaldo also received recognition at the awarding ceremony, taking home the Pinakapasadong Mamamahayag sa Larangan ng Kamalayang Pilipino.

Now in its 26th year, Gawad Pasado held its awards night on October 12 at the Philippine Christian University (PCU) in Manila.

 "Firefly" follows the story of a boy who goes on a journey in pursuit of his late mother's stories. The film starred Mikaell and Alessandra De Rossi, who both previously won acting awards for their performances. Other cast members include Dingdong Dantes, Epy Quizon, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega.

It took home the Best Picture Award at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 and previously bagged the Silver Award for Best Asian Feature Film/Telemovie at the ContentAsia Awards 2024.

"Firefly" is currently streaming on Prime Video Philippines.
